If you are looking create a magical atmosphere in your landscape when the sun goes down, then look no further than solar fairy lights. While the name of these lights may lead you to think of a mythical fairy creature, like Tinkerbell, the name actually bears no relation to the actual look of these lights.
These lights function a lot like a strand of Christmas led grow lights any good, but with the energy efficiency of the more modern outdoor lighting options. Commonly available in a single strand measuring 55 ft in length, possibly longer, solar fairy lights feature energy efficient LED bulbs and are powered by the sun, just like standard solar lights are. This means that they do not need to be plugged in to a power outlet like older lighting strands needed to be, allowing them to be installed anywhere in your garden where you would like a touch of light.

There are many areas where LED lights truly excel but none is more apparent than with grow lights. The reasons are many fold for this inherent strength which we'll get into but there are a couple of key considerations and ultimately, each LED light is not created equal for this use. We'll look at what to consider from a shopper's point of view when considering and choosing LED grow lights from plant light spectrum for your use. First, what do we mean by grow lights in general.
Grow lights are essentially used to grow agricultural plants, flowers, and herbs for many purposes. There are large scale grow house for year round agriculture by the 10's of acres to personal hydroponic gardens and greenhouses even within residential houses. These are all the same in terms of their need for light. Just the scale differs. So let's look at our root goal with LED grow lights or any grow light for that matter. First, a quick introduction to the lifeblood of a living plant. Most green, living plants (that we're most intimately dependent upon) require light to create energy via photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the chemical process that a plant uses to turn certain wavelengths of sunlight into direct energy it can use. This area of the spectrum that can readily be used is called PAR or Photosynthetically Active Region and it's where we want our light "shine" if you will. Sunlight creates a wide band of spectrum, in fact, you could say it creates across the entire spectrum which is ideal for plans. We have created lights that mimic the critical part of the spectrum, the PAR, in order to substitute manmade generated light for sunlight for many reasons. It may be a function of controlling output, yield, and environment such as growing in cold climates or even just the ability to grow indoors for our own use. Either way, PAR spectrum is critical in our light generation.

"Stealth Grow" often refers to a garden one is trying to keep secretive. Stealth Grows have become very popular in recent decades due to the criminalization of marijuana, and the hoards of people who continue to grow it. Stealth Growing is the method many growers use to remain under the radar of the police. In order to be considered a Stealth Grow, a garden must be completely un-noticeable to the passer by. It must produce little to no sound, no smell, no light trails, and most of all little heat.
HID Grow Lights
Although it is illegal, many drug agency and task force officials have resorted to heat-signature scanning as a way of finding grow rooms. Even if someone thinks their setup is a Stealth Grow, HID Grow Lights create a bright hot-spot that allows the police to see your grow room. If they spot enough lights during their scan, they may even put you on their list for a raid. It is for this reason that HID Grow Lights such as High Pressure Sodium (HPS) and Metal Halide (MH), are not good for stealth growing.
