In a brand new statement, EA Sports told IGN: We don't want to make comments on rumors or speculation Madden 22 coins; however, we're determined to continue to improve Franchise as aspect of our Madden NFL 22 live-streaming service, and even beyond. The two updates are part of the Franchise updates that will be available with Madden NFL 22. We will have more details on the updates in the new year.

The news comes after an announcement by Sports Gamers Online that EA was deciding to cancel any additional franchise mode updates for Madden 22. It was partly based on IGN's conversation with Madden 22 executive producer Seann Graddy. Graddy said this year's content roadmap is "slightly less ambitious than years before" due to the fact that the team is focussing on a couple of key areas instead of trying to introduce items on the size of Superstar KO, a well-received arcade mode that was introduced with Madden 20.

"I believe that the roadmap is] likely to be a little less ambitious than years past because we're really focusing on a few key elements in Madden 22 and also getting going on Madden 23 in a big manner," Graddy said at the time. "So I'm going to stick with our previous statements over in the past two years"We're a living service, and we'll continue to modify the game, however, we're certainly not going to be talking about a brand new mode."

The report received attention partly due to franchise mode, which is a topic of contention with some buy mut coins. The roadmap that was promised initially came as a result of the hashtag #fixmaddenfranchise, which circulated on Twitter during the second half of 2020. This began following reports that EA wasn't planning improvements to franchise mode that year.
