It's not often that you find such a perfect match when looking for publishing opportunities, but Brendan along with Melvor Idle were exactly that, so we decided to be a part of his team and the game in full.

He adds: "We like to say that when RuneScape was the MMO that can be enjoyed while watching TV, Melvor is the idle game that can be enjoyed while playing RuneScape. Melvor Idle takes RuneScape's core gameplay mechanics and reduces them down into bite-sized moments that can be enjoyed when time is tight and so RuneScape players will feel at familiar with Melvor.The Gower brothers organically grew a community over the space of time, but they also did mistakes, and they took massive leaps forward due to the conditions of the game in the early days allowed it. The kind of game like RuneScape could not be created today.

RuneScape was a long-running passion project developed by three brothers who were in their kitchen with their parents. They developed it using free software from gaming mags. It was monetized , so they could be able to justify working on it full-time, but with it being totally free to play.
